Overview of Processing Options
Our WASTE2RDF is a classic refuse derived fuel (RDF). It can be obtained from various input streams (dry packaging, municipal waste, commercial waste, mixed construction waste) and is based on mechanical separation of the high-calorific fraction with simultaneous removal of the valuable ferrous metals. The sorting residue is landfilled. This cost-effective and quick-to-implement process is particularly efficient for materials without biomass.
In the case of municipal or household waste, the carry-over rate increases during separation due to the sticky consistency of the biomass contained. However, this can also be converted into a high-quality fuel through biological drying or dry stabilisation. Our RDF based on mechanical-biological treatment (Eggersmann FUEL) therefore has an even higher calorific value and is also legally recognised as more sustainable due to the use of regenerative biomass. The biomass content therefore even has a positive effect on the CO2 balance.
