System Solutions for Municipal Solid Waste
(MSW)
Solutions for Substitute Fuel From Municipal Solid Waste
Mechanical
Two different plant sizes for the production of classical RDF by means of mechanical treatment (biomass is separated).
Mechanical-Biological
Various plant sizes for converting biomass into a fuel as well through biological drying for a particularly high calorific value and even less landfill mass (Eggersmann FUEL process).
Solutions for the dry stabilisation of municipal waste
Biological drying
Various plant sizes for dry stabilisation (CONVAERO process) of the organic fraction in municipal solid waste (OFMSW) for safe landfilling with simultaneous landfill water reduction (up to 50%).

Municipal Solid Waste
Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is the entirety of waste streams that are not collected separately. The composition of municipal waste is heavily dependent on the degree of waste separation in the respective country. In countries such as Germany, for example, there is no longer any municipal solid waste in the traditional sense, but only residual waste that is not separated by the consumer. In countries without waste separation, on the other hand, everything from biowaste, plastic and cardboard to glass can be found in municipal waste. If paper and biowaste can be recycled in almost closed cycles when collected separately, this is no longer possible due to the sticky consistency of the biomass. After all, biomass contains up to 50 % of water, which also accounts for a large proportion of the volume of municipal waste. As the separation of recyclable materials for genuine recycling is only possible to a very limited extent, the only options are often landfilling or processing into substitute fuel.
