Mixed Construction Waste
Only a small proportion of mixed construction waste consists of minerals such as concrete or ceramics like tiles and sanitary facilities. In addition, it often contains significant quantities of waste wood, polystyrene, plasterboard, insulation materials, wallpaper, film, packaging materials, various metals and glass. Many of these materials can be recycled or are suitable for the production of substitute fuels. This saves fossil fuels and means that less waste has to be disposed of in landfill sites.
