IRRT® Process for Slag Treatment
- Up to 65 % material utilisation of waste incineration slag
- High quality of recyclable fractions
- Residual materials can be landfilled according to DK-1 specifications
- Return on investment possible after 48 months

Incinerator bottom ash contains valuable materials. With the IRRT® process, we can reutilise these in exceptional quality and on a large scale. The recovered minerals are even legally recognised as fully-fledged goods and not as inferior substitute building materials.
Modern Incinerator Bottom Ash Processing
Recovery of High-Quality Products and Metals
The IRRT® process offers you completely new possibilities in the processing of slag and bottom ash. Large quantities of high-quality ingredients are separated in a cost-efficient manner.

The End Products
You can produce the following marketable end products with IRRT®:
UltraLit®
Certified Aggregate
The mineral content in the slag is processed several times and is so pure that you can replace a large proportion of the primary aggregate in the concrete. The certified aggregate even fulfils the requirements of EU-VO 2024/3110 and DIN EN 12620.
UltraSilit®
High-Purity Glass
Once the bottom ash has been treated, glass particles are removed in a final step using optical sorting machines. Thanks to their equally high purity, they can be used directly for the production of foam glass.
Metal Recovery
Ferrous
Metals
They can recover the majority of ferrous metals, including stainless steels in directly smeltable quality.
Non-Ferrous Metals
A high percentage of non-ferrous metals can also be separated – this even applies to aluminium, which decomposes in other processes.
