The integrated feed and metering hopper of the Bag Opener BRT HARTNER BO can be fed with plastic bags by wheel loader or gripper. The bunker can even be overfilled. Long buffer times through high volumes are the prerequisite to relieve the staff.
The installed moving floor conveyor transfers the material to the ripping drum, the heart of the Bag Opener. The separately driven drum halves generate a first relative movement. The continuous feeding of the ripping drum by the feed hopper ensures highest opening and emptying rates. Shredding of the material, ripping of cardboard, compressing of tins and cans, formation of unnecessary fine parts and mixing of moist and dry material are efficiently avoided.
The rear side of the ripping drum features so-called clamping arms. These ensure continuous contact of the Bag Opener drum and the plastic bags. The distance between the clamping arms and the drum narrows downwards. The pre-set clamping pressure can be modified. The clamping arms evade compact disruptive material by lifting up and away from the drum. Passing the dynamic channel is the second relative movement for the material. Both relative movements ensure that the bags are opened reliably and that the contents are emptied out and loosened up.
The ripping fingers on the drum and the ripping triangles on the clamping arms are the tools of the Bag Opener BO. They are designed to open the bags while at the same time avoiding entanglements on the drum as far as possible. The tools are made of wear-resistant steel and can be furnished with special coating if required. This special design triples the lifetime in comparison to the conventional design.
