New research from Münster University of Applied Sciences and BRT HARTNER GmbH has highlighted an important operational improvement for lightweight packaging (LWP) sorting facilities: the strategic use of bag-opening technology. The findings, which form part of a bachelor’s thesis, suggest that incorporating a bag opener at the initial stage of the sorting process can significantly help to reduce fire risks.
