Our greatest strength is our versatility. We can supply you with all the machines you need for your mobile plant solution. For example: if you have organic waste to treat, we offer you the shredder, the screening machine with wind sifting unit as well as the compost turner. This enables us to support you from pre-processing through to the removal of impurities and composting. Shredding, screening or turning – we have a wide variety of machine types for every faciltity size. We also offer a broad range of options and customisation possibilities for special materials. We are spread across several locations: With parts of development, sales, BACKHUS production and service, Wardenburg is our central location. Here we also offer regular training courses for dealers and customers on all our mobile machines. The branch in Waren an der Müritz, on the other hand, traditionally specialises in FORUS dual-shaft shredders. The majority of our machines are manufactured at our plant in Sepolno, Poland. This was newly built in 2021 and already expanded in 2024. The plant has a 240-metre-long assembly hall and is one of the most modern of its kind. As part of the Eggersmann Group, some departments – such as electrical engineering, brand management and marketing – are located at its headquarters in Halle Westf.

2008 is the year in wich the Eggersmann Group founded the Eggersmann Anlagenbau and became also the beginning of the Eggersmann Recycling Technology. The integration of BACKHUS in 2012 marked the company's entry into mobile recycling. In the years that followed, the mobile machinery division grew to include the companies TERRA SELECT, FORUS and TEUTON.

TEUTON, FORUS, TERRA SELECT and BACKHUS were already individually important brands for mobile shredding, screening and sifting as well as turning. Combining them under the roof of Eggersmann has created a large full-service provider with a strong international market position. In 2021, the final step was taken by merging all former companies under the single brand of »Eggersmann«.
In 1976, a medium-sized machine manufacturer specialising in forestry technology emerged from a GDR forestry technology combine in Waren an der Müritz. Since then, machines bearing the name "FORUS" have been manufactured and exported all over the world. While the broad portfolio used to also include hammer mills and screening technology, for example, a particularly strong focus on twin-shaft shredders developed over time. Today, the name "FORUS" refers to the Eggersmann brand's mobile twin-shaft shredders. The integration into the Eggersmann Group in 2016 was accompanied by a fundamental transformation: the traditional company headquarters were converted into a technology site with its own test centre and production was relocated to the central plant in Sepolno, Poland. Today, series production takes place in Sepolno, while customised products and prototypes are still built in Waren.
In 1984, Friedrich (Fidi) Backhus developed his first windrow turner for composting manure on his parents' farm and BACKHUS was founded the very next year. He managed the company until it was integrated into the Eggersmann Group in 2012. The company's rise and its current size are characterised by its special practical and customer proximity. Comprehensive advice, a compost manual with all the important information and a wide range of customisation options, from fleece winder to irrigation systems, ensured the high international demand then and now. With over 1,600 BACKHUS sold, Eggersmann defends its position as world market leader. The company was based in Jeddeloh II until it moved to Wardenburg in 2016. Today, »BACKHUS« is the machine designation for all Eggersmann A-series windrow turners.
The Terra Select GmbH was founded 2003 as a family business in Sassenberg. From the very beginning, the aim was to develop and manufacture high-quality trommel screening machines, also offering wind sifters and star screens. Terra Select even designed and realised stationary machines, including entire plant concepts. In 2015, the company was then integrated into the Eggersmann Group's recycling division. Today, the mobile TERRA SELECT trommel and STAR SELECT star screen machines are offered under the "Eggersmann" brand. Although stationary versions of these are also available on request, the stationary machines for installation in recycling plants have been taken over by BRT HARTNER as BRT HARTNER ST. Both the mobile and stationary versions have undergone considerable further development over the years and today have little in common with the earlier machines.
The TEUTON brand was founded by Eggersmann in 2017. In addition to the BACKHUS compost turners, FORUS dual-shaft shredders and TERRA SELECT screening machines, TEUTON has since added universally applicable single-shaft shredders to Eggersmanns portfolio. The first TEUTON Z 55 was presented at IFAT 2017. The machines were developed in-house by Eggersmann. The shredders are produced both in Sepolno and in Wardenburg. However, TEUTON only existed as an independent brand until 2021. Then it too was subsumed under Eggersmann and the name is henceforth being used for the mobile single-shaft shredders.
